Power over Ethernet PoE splitter is a device that helpful for older end powered devices (PDs) that can't accept power through Ethernet cables, people can join up a splitter onto the end of the Ethernet cable connected with terminal PoE disabled device, and it will split the signal onto network cable and the power onto another power cable. PoE splitter allows users to place Ethernet-enabled products, such as IP cameras, IP phones and wireless AP, where power outlets are not readily available. That also means PDs without PoE module embedded can still be integrated in a PoE system using an active (i.e. IEEE802.3af/at compliant) splitter.
